Custom Order Breast Milk Soap | Made With Your Own Milk

This is a custom order. You send me your breast milk, and I turn it into a full loaf of 10 handmade soap bars, made just for your family. The milk is yours, so this listing is only for mamas who want to use their own.

Picture a creamy, tan bar with a smooth, gently wavy top and a mild, unscented lather. It's a cold process soap made with your breast milk, olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, and castor oil. The result is a gentle, conditioning bar that's lovely for your little one (or anyone in the family) with sensitive skin. You get all 10 bars from the loaf, plus the little soap scrap ends. Nothing goes to waste around here.

How it works

1. Place your order. At checkout, tell me if you'd like colloidal oatmeal and/or honey added.
2. Watch your email. I'll send you shipping instructions for your milk (check your spam folder, just in case).
3. Ship me about 8 fl oz of frozen breast milk. Email me when it's on its way.
4. I make your soap and let you know when it's done.
5. Your soap cures for 5-6 weeks, then your 10 bars ship to you.

Plan ahead: The 5-6 week cure starts after I receive your milk, not the day you order. Ordering as a gift? Leave extra time for milk shipping.

Please reply to my email within 5 days of ordering. If I haven't heard from you by then, I'll cancel the order and refund you in full.

Ingredients

Breastmilk is naturally rich in fatty acids that help skin feel soft and moisturized, a lovely option for your little one (or anyone in the family) with sensitive skin.

Finely ground colloidal oatmeal (optional) adds a gentle, natural feel to the bar, helping skin feel calm and cleansed.

Honey (optional) is a natural humectant, which helps skin feel moisturized without feeling oily.

Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Breastmilk, Sodium Hydroxide, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Sodium Lactate. Only if you choose them: Honey, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour.

Since these are handmade, there may be variations in texture, appearance, and color compared to the photos. The pictures only show an example.

Allergy Warning: People with skin sensitivities or allergies should first test the soap on a small spot of skin and stop using it if any irritation occurs.

How to ship your breast milk

• Freeze your milk before shipping if you can. I'll be freezing it before I make the soap anyway, and frozen milk travels better and leaks less.
• Double bag your milk and include an ice pack and insulation, especially in warmer months.
• Follow your shipping carrier's rules for liquids and perishable items. You are responsible for abiding by shipping laws.
• I need about 8 fl oz for this recipe. A little less is fine if there's some leakage or you can't spare that much.
• Ship the fastest way you can, such as USPS Priority Mail Express or UPS Ground Express. To save on postage, free shipping sites like Pirate Ship or Shippo offer discounted rates compared to the counter.

FAQ

How long does the soap last?

• A bar usually lasts 1-2 months, maybe longer, depending on how often you use it.
• Once cured, the bars have a super long shelf life (years). Because of the chemical changes during saponification (the process that turns lye and oils into soap), the milk will not spoil. Soap often gets better the longer it cures.

Is this soap tear-free?

• No. Cold process bar soap is often alkaline (a pH around 8-9), so it will sting if it gets in your baby's eyes. It's gentle on skin thanks to the extra oils and butters. I recommend it for infants 2-3 months or older to protect delicate newborn skin, and make sure you can rinse without getting soap in their eyes.

What if I don't have 8 fl oz of milk to spare?

• No problem! I'll use as much as you have, and the rest can be replaced with water or another milk if you prefer.

• Sorry, this listing is only for mamas using their own milk. I don't sell breast milk, for hygiene reasons. My Milk + Honey soap is a very similar, gentle, unscented bar made with goat milk, and it's a great alternative.
