Restore Skin Salve

Restore Skin Salve is an incredibly moisturizing natural skin salve that is great for many skin conditions: dry skin, mature or aging skin, psoriasis, eczema, etc. It can be used in place of aftershave, as a moisturizing night cream, as a diaper rash barrier for babies, on dry or irritated skin, or as a sunburn relief ointment. This salve comes in an unscented option for those that are sensitive to fragrance or have sensitive skin. The ingredients in this skin salve are all-natural and have various benefits, as described below. Restore Skin Salve does go on slightly greasy, but is quickly absorbed by the skin.

Ingredients

Hemsworth Homestead handmade skin salves are made with all-natural ingredients and scented with only pure essential oils.

Shea butter is well-known for its moisturizing and emollient properties, which leave behind nourished and hydrated skin after using it as part of your skincare routine. It has a high content of fatty acids and vitamins, which promotes healthy skin.

Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids, such as lauric acid which can be good for the skin or hair. It possesses antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and may help treat acne. It is very moisturizing and is especially effective for people with eczema. Several studies have also indicated that coconut oil may help with wound healing.

Cold pressed avocado oil is another key ingredient in this skin salve. It contains vitamins A, B, D, E, and beta carotene. It deeply penetrates the skin to moisturize and is great for sun-damaged skin.

Sweet almond oil is also moisturizing to the skin and may help reduce the appearance of scars and improve skin tone and complexion.

Yellow beeswax is also added to solidify the mixture at room temperature and it also locks in moisture into the skin.

Directions

Apply a small amount to dry skin, or after a bath or shower. Allow salve to absorb into your skin.

Details

This product melts at slightly below body temperature (around 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit) due to the oil content. If it is warmer than that where you live, the product may melt slightly during shipping. It is still fine to use if it melts, but the Shea butter may become slightly grainy.

Each skin salve tub contains about 2.9oz or 82g and will come with a small spatula for easy application. The tubs are recyclable and BPA-free. These Restore Skin Salves are preservative free and contain no water; they have a shelf life of a year or more, and should not go rancid if stored in a cool place away from sunlight. Since these are handmade, there may be slight variations in appearance.

Little white beads may appear on the surface and bottom of the product. This is NOT mold. The butters and beeswax in this product can produce little “butter beads” since they have been melted and then cooled.
