Ingredients

Our deodorants are made with naturally derived, non-toxic ingredients and lightly scented with essential oils. Read more about each ingredient and why it’s included below:

BioLatum: This is a natural, botanically based alternative to synthetic petroleum products. It contains wholesome, skin conditioning ingredients to help increase skin smoothness and moisturize the skin barrier.

Fractionated Coconut Oil: This oil is made by separating the different types of fatty acids found in coconut oil. It has an emollient (moisturizing) effect on the skin and penetrates better than regular coconut oil. It contains antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Potato Starch: It works as a natural emollient (moisturizer) and can help soothe the skin. It helps absorb moisture to keep the underarm feeling dry.

Arrowroot Powder: This odorless, natural powder that comes from the rootstock of the Maranta arundinacea plant helps thicken the deodorant formulation, absorb moisture, and gives a fine, silky texture to reduce friction and make it easier to apply.

Cera Bellina Wax: This derivative of natural beeswax helps improve the formulation by evenly dispersing the ingredients in the deodorant and preventing any graininess. It helps give a smooth, satiny feel to the deodorant, is suitable for sensitive skin, and helps thicken the deodorant into a stick application.

Lauryl Laurate: This natural mixture of coconut and palm oils (RSPO certified sustainable) is certified by the Natural Products Association. It is a solid, fast-melting product that gives a light, powdery feel on the skin and helps the deodorant have a nice slip on the skin.

Magnesium Hydroxide: This natural mineral powder that is extracted from seawater has effective oil-absorbent properties that help bind oil on the skin and from inside the pore lining. It is also used to adjust the pH of the formula to be skin-friendly.

Candelilla Wax: This natural, vegan wax is harder than beeswax and provides a higher melting point to give the deodorant its structure and resistance to heat.

Zinc Ricineolate: This ingredient is the zinc salt of ricineoleic acid, which is a major fatty acid found in castor oil. It works in the deodorant to trap and absorb odor molecules formed during bacterial decomposition of sweat. It does not inhibit water movement, therefore is not considered an antiperspirant. It does not have bactericidal or fungicidal properties, so it does not interfere with the natural flora of the skin.

Triethyl Citrate (Natural): This component of citric acid is included to help inhibit the growth of bacteria that contributes to odor when sweating. It is tolerated well by the skin and adds to the deodorizing properties of the formula.

Directions

Apply a few swipes to each armpit daily for odor protection. External use only.
Store away from direct heat and light. If exposed to heat, place product in the fridge to restore consistency. Make sure to allow the product to return to room temperature before twisting the deodorant or you risk breaking the mechanism inside.

Details

This product is a deodorant, NOT an antiperspirant. Deodorants help control odor but allow you to sweat; antiperspirants prevent sweating and odor at the pores. Any product that is an antiperspirant must contain aluminum salts.

These deodorants are made by weight and contain approximately 90g (3.1oz) of deodorant. They are lightly scented with essential oils to prevent any sensitization and reaction of the skin. The scent will not be strong compared to a conventional deodorant; this is by design.

Since these are handmade, there may be variations from what is pictured in size or appearance.
